STM 2-Day US Annual Conference 2025

We are excited to announce that Meg Waites, Senior Account Director, and Tony Alves, SVP of Product Management, will be attending the STM US 2-Day Annual Conference in Washington, DC.

This year’s theme, “From Insight in Trust to Implementation of Trust,” highlights the growing need to uphold transparency, reliability, and integrity in scholarly publishing. As research output continues to rise, maintaining trust in academic content has never been more crucial.

The volume of academic output has been increasing rapidly, making it challenging to uphold transparency and reliability in scholarly publishing. At HighWire, we are taking positive steps to improve research integrity through innovative solutions and strategic partnerships.

Here’s what we’re doing:

• Combatting Paper Mills – Our partnership with Clear Skies helps detect fraudulent papers produced by papermills.
• Enhancing Data Integrity – Through DataSeer, we help publishers enforce proper data sharing and management practices.

Innovative Integrity Checks – We are currently working on a proof of concept for a Research Integrity Check (RIC) tool. It performs automated and semi-automated integrity checks, which are configurable by the publisher.
